Vinyasa flow involves moving progressively through a flowing sequence of postures, using breath to connect one posture to the next. In this flowing style of yoga, you will feel safely guided through your practice and will gradually build heat, strength and flexibility in the body as you flow and transition between postures integrating breath with movement. As you concentrate on synchronising movement with your breath, you begin to connect within and notice how you are feeling in the moment so that you can safely explore your edge and deepen in to your practice. The self-awareness you build through vinyasa flow will lead you back to the inner peace that exists within all of us.
This practice will improve your flexibility and concentration and you’ll leave feeling stretched and with a sense of stillness in your mind. Some previous yoga experience may be helpful, however options are always provided for you to take from the practice what you need.
Power flow is a flowing vinyasa style class that will get your body moving. Pairing breath with movement and adding music to motivate you, this high intensity class will give you options for more advanced postures so you can challenge your practice and explore your potential in a safe and supportive environment. During this class, you will build muscle and core strength, increase flexibility and learn how to deepen the breath for optimal vitality. You will leave feeling energised, motivated and ready to start your day!
Some yoga experience is recommended but not essential as the class can be modified to suit your level.
Yin Yang yoga is a beautiful blend of active and passive postures, helping to bring balance to the body and mind. This class combines the dynamic, flowing style of vinyasa with the quiet practice of yin. Yang yoga describes the active part of the practice, and focuses on exercising and promoting blood flow to the muscles, while the yin part of the practice focuses on releasing into the deeper connective tissue.
In this class, you’ll warm the body with a gentle flow that comes to standing, then you’ll be encouraged to relax in to a nice deep stretch to finish. The yin yang practice will strengthen your muscles and release stress and tension in the connective tissue. By integrating and balancing these two opposites, you’ll feel invigorated, rejuvenated and restored, so you leave class grounded, centred and content.
Yin yoga is suitable for all levels of experience and fitness and, because it is a passive practice, it is the perfect complement for our active and busy lifestyles. Yin targets the deeper connective tissues around the joints (fascia, tendons and ligaments) through holding each pose for approximately 2 and 5 minutes. With the support of yoga props these longer held poses improve flexibility, and restore and maintain natural mobility of the joints.
During this class, you’ll be encouraged to find stillness in both your body and mind, and will feel supported as you connect within and learn where you hold stress in your body. You’ll be able to release this stored stress through the practice of yin and will leave class feeling peaceful, relaxed and rejuvenated throughout your body and mind.
Gentle hatha yoga is perfect for those looking for a slower style of yoga where postures are held a little longer and there’s no flow or difficult transitions to navigate. Rather than moving from pose to pose and linking with the breath, you will be encouraged to work within each pose to explore correct body alignment and build strength and stability within the physical body.
Some gentle flow might be incorporated at the start of the class to warm up your body, however the focus of gentle hatha will be to deepen your practice and knowledge on the safe alignment of each pose.
A slow flow vinyasa class brings you the same amazing yoga you can expect in a vinyasa flow, however the classes are slowed down to give you the opportunity to feel in to your body and use the physical postures to assist you in finding unity of the mind and the body.
The class is perfect for beginners and also the more experienced as options are always given. Students are encouraged to challenge themselves within their own limits by connecting the body and mind and choosing options that will help them feel nourished and rejuvenated.
