Michelle Jennings has been part of the Bodhi J family for four years. She heads up our yoga program and manages our Qantas Wellbeing Studio. Michelle is also behind our incredible wellness retreats. She’s helped us all become less stressed and more balanced with her knowledge of yoga and meditation. We catch up with Michelle to get to know her a little better.
Why did you gravitate towards yoga?
I used to work in the FIFO world as a marine biologist. Working long days for weeks at a time meant there was pretty much no work/life balance. My health suffered, and as a result, I turned to yoga to help manage stress, and regain my health and wellness. I loved it so much I decided to completely change my career and train to be a yoga teacher!
What benefits of yoga have served you the best?
Yoga keeps my body moving and helps me release tension. I’m seriously so stiff if I miss a day of yoga. I also find I feel more in control of stress and emotions with daily yoga. I can walk into class feeling stressed or upset and know that by the time I leave, I’m feeling happy again!
Name three things you’re grateful for today?
Starting my day with my favourite yoga class! Having the opportunity to enjoy a coffee in this amazing sunshine and catching up with my friends for dinner.
What do you like most about working at Bodhi J?
I love the whole ethos at Bodhi J and the holistic approach to wellness. It’s also awesome to be part of such a supportive and amazing team!
